Christmas Eve is an especially magical time here. As dusk falls families gather to sing carols, warming themselves around a blazing bonfire with hot chocolate and good cheer.  When the sun has set the Torchlight Parade begins, a procession of torch bearing skiers joined by Santa Claus illuminate the Lower Hughes trail, ending with a Christmas message made up of glowing light.

In the sky fireworks blaze and build toward a grand and brilliant finale. Then Winter Park's fleet of snowcats lit by colored Christmas lights make their way down the slopes in a Christmas tree formation. Church services are available after the fireworks.
